My LORD’s BibleProtevangelium of James 5
1And on the morrow he offered his gifts, saying in himself: If the Lord God be reconciled unto me, the plate that is upon the forehead of the priest will make it manifest unto me. And Ioacim offered his gifts and looked earnestly upon the plate of the priest when he went up unto the altar of the Lord, and he saw no sin in himself. And Ioacim said: Now know I that the Lord is become propitious unto me and hath forgiven all my sins. And he went down from the temple of the Lord justified, and went unto his house.
Τῇ δὲ ἐπαύριον προσέφερε τὰ δῶρα αὐτοῦ λέγων ἐν ἑαυτῷ· ἐὰν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἱλασθῇ μοι, τὸ πέταλον τοῦ ἱερέως φανερόν μοι ποιήσει. καὶ προσέφερεν τὰ δῶρα αὐτοῦ Ἰωακεὶμ καὶ προσεῖχεν τῷ πετάλῳ τοῦ ἱερέως, ὡς ἐπέβη ἐπὶ τὸ θυσιαστήριον κυρίου, καὶ οὐκ εἶδεν ἁμαρτίαν ἐν ἑαυτῷ. καὶ εἶπεν Ἰωακείμ· νῦν οἶδα ὅτι κύριος ἱλάσθη μοι καὶ ἀφῆκεν πάντα τὰ ἁμαρτήματά μου. καὶ κατέβη ἐκ ναοῦ κυρίου δεδικαιωμένος, καὶ ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ. 2And her months were fulfilled, and in the ninth month, Anna brought forth. And she said unto the midwife: What have I brought forth? And she said: A female. And Anna said: My soul is magnified this day, and she laid herself down. And when the days were fulfilled, Anna purified herself and gave suck to the child and called her name Mary.
Ἐπληρώθησαν δὲ οἱ μῆνες αὐτῆς· ἐν δὲ τῷ ἐνάτῳ μηνὶ ἐγέννησεν Ἄμμα. καὶ εἶπεν τῇ μαίᾳ· τί ἐγέννησα; ἡ δὲ εἶπεν· θῆλυ. καὶ εἶπεν Ἄμμα· ἐμεγαλύνθη ἡ ψυχή μου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ· καὶ ἀνέκλινεν αὐτήν. πληρωθεισῶν δὲ τῶν ἡμερῶν ἀπεσμήξατο Ἄμμα, καὶ ἔδωκεν μασθὸν τῇ παιδί, καὶ ἐπωνόμασε τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς Μαριάμ.
