Gematria

Gematria assigns a number to each letter, then adds up a word’s (or a whole verse’s) letters to get a total. Scripture students have long used this to notice when two different words or phrases add up to the same number, treating that shared total as a possible sign of a hidden connection between them. This page runs that calculation only over My LORD’s Bible’s own text, so every match points to another word or verse actually in this app — never an outside numerology database. Searching a multi-word phrase also checks for other same-length phrases elsewhere in the corpus that add up to the same total — not just single matching words or whole verses whose full text happens to total the same.

Three schemes run on every search, applied to English letters:

English Ordinal

Each letter’s plain position in the alphabet: A=1, B=2, C=3 … Z=26.

English Ordinal ×6

The same alphabet position as above, with every value multiplied by six.

English Standard

A traditional cipher rather than simple counting — each letter has its own fixed value from a set table (e.g. J=600), not just its position in the alphabet.

Two more schemes use the real historical letter values of the actual scripture language, not an English cipher — these only appear when they apply: search a plain number to check it against both, or type or paste actual Hebrew or Greek text to compute its real value directly.

Hebrew Gematria

Standard Old Testament Hebrew letter values (Mispar Hechrachi), computed on the Hebrew text itself — e.g. יהוה (the divine name) = 26.

Greek Isopsephy

Standard New Testament Greek letter values, computed on the Greek text itself — e.g. Ιησους (“Jesus”) = 888.
