But if it incline to the evil inclination, all its actions are in wickedness, and it driveth away the good, and cleaveth to the evil, and is ruled by Beliar; even though it work what is good, he perverteth it to evil.

But from wickedness flee away, destroying the evil inclination by your good works; for they that are double-faced serve not God, but their own lusts, so that they may please Beliar and men like unto themselves.

And ye shall be set at nought in the dispersion vanishing away as water.

And one could observe how they loved Eleazar by their unwillingness to be torn away from him and how he loved them.

And he replied, 'To rule oneself and not to be carried away by impulses. For all men possess a certain natural bent of mind. It is probable that most men have an inclination towards food and drink and pleasure, and kings a bent towards the acquisition of territory and great renown. And even the divine justice will have mercy on us, if compelled by necessity we yield to the king in fear. Why should we cast away from us this dear life and rob ourselves of this sweet world?

And the Lord overthrew my enemy by His word: and he became like the stubble which the wind carries away;

For Error flees away from it, and meets it not: but the Truth proceeds in the right path, and

And they sweep away their fords, and catch their bodies and destroy their lives.
